In October 2024, the 4th batch of The Electors Academy will start! The Electors Academy is a track where 20 young participants (18-28) have the opportunity for personal, journalistic and social development. During the course of +/- 10 weeks, you will receive several workshops from scientists, politicians and companies. You will also set up your own campaign in different teams (with campaign budget) to mobilize as many young people as possible for social change: this semester we will focus on the theme of climate change.
Research by IPSOS shows that 70% of Dutch youth are concerned about climate change, one in five even experience climate stress. In The Electors Academy, we turn concerns into action: how can you make a difference for your community, as well as at the system level?
What we offer
– You will participate in 10 unique sessions (workshops and field trips) (starting October 4, 2024 every Friday afternoon from 12:30 – 17:00) on all things climate change & campaigning
– You will receive weekly training from renowned scholars, politicians & businesses on elections & how to build a successful campaign with a team.
– You will be guided to use all your new insights and skills to create and spread a campaign with the other participants!
– You’re in for The Great Climate Show with The Electors at Tivoli (Friday, Oct. 25)
– You will receive a certificate at the end of the Academy that will look good on your resume
For whom.
– Ambitious and enthusiastic young people between 18 and 28 years old (MBO/HBO/WO/not studying), who are socially engaged, want to develop personally and make an impact.
– In-depth knowledge about climate change is not necessary, desire to develop with 20 peers is!
Good to know:
– There is an attendance requirement. Of course it can happen that you are unable to attend a session for example due to illness, therefore it is possible to miss one session. In this overview you can see all the dates and times the sessions take place.
– There is no charge for your participation. Participation in The Electors Academy is free.
– In addition to the Friday afternoon workshop, you and your team will spend an average of 4 hours per week developing your own campaign. Experience shows that these are fewer hours at the beginning and a little more toward the end, so keep that in mind.

Please note that every year there are many applications for this program, participants are selected based on their application/CV + a short interview in the second round.
