About us

The Electors creates impactful productions to activate young people on social issues such as the future of Europe, the climate crisis and Dutch democracy. Through political theater shows (including in Paradiso and the Kleine Komedie), podcasts, and campaigns, we engage a wide and young audience on pressing social issues. We also help companies and organizations turn social issues into stories. Thus, we sometimes end up at a talk show table with politicians or in the European Parliament, we have done an election tour at secondary schools and moderate politically oriented programs, focused on both the Netherlands and Europe.

the internship

As a program maker at De Kiesmannen, you are involved in various programs for MBOs, the European Union and other organizations and companies for which we perform or make programs. You will also be involved in the creation and writing of new project plans. You will mostly work from our office on the Overtoom, sometimes you will join the Electors on the road to assignments, events and theaters throughout the Netherlands. We work in a young team consisting of the founders of the Kiesmannen, a few freelancers and other trainees. Because it is a small dynamic team, you will be given a lot of responsibilities, but you are also expected to provide your own input and dare to show initiative.

Tasks

• You think and write scripts for various programs for your own productions and assignments from various (social) organizations and companies
• You conduct background research on themes such as elections, the climate crisis and the European Union
• You will work on a project basis and assist with our election shows towards the European elections in March 2024.
• You propose new programs and collaborations with other cool organizations
• You will be looking into producing our new podcast

Requirements

• You are still studying or have just graduated (HBO/WO)
• You have a strong political/journalistic/social/cultural interest
• You are creative, responsible, independent and enterprising
• Available for a period of 4 or 5 months (part-time or full-time)
• Preference is given to someone who is available full-time
• Languages: Dutch & English
